Wonder of Nature and the Importance of Science

"The wonder is the beginning of wisdom in learning from books as well as from nature."          -Mortimer J. Adler

The nature is referred to as the art of God. The existence of God is the matter of faith and spirituality, I will not drag this issue here but the nature is really an eternal creation full of wonder. Nature is an important and integral part of mankind. It is one of the greatest blessing for human life; however, nowadays human fail to recognize it as one. Nature has been in existence long before humans and even since it has taken care of mankind and nourished it forever.

The title as I have given above is a broad sense in wide range that I can not disclose this discussion completely but I will try my best to propound my views and thinking. Now let discuss the main themes, the nature and the naturnatural resources. There are so many natural objects that always surprise us. We are also a part of nature. We all see from birth and feel so many natural phenomena; hey stop, we all can not see, some of us are not able to see. This a wondering fact, why all can not see. There a similar thing happens in the case of listening that most of us can hear but some are unable to hear. In this context of listening, can you recognize that there are various kinds of sounds come from various sources. Even the sounds from the humans voice are different from each other. Now I have termed the word 'human', there are uncountable animals are in this planet, then why they are so different. What differentiate us, the humans from other animals and why? Why even we, the humans are different from each other? Why also there the animanimals are very different from plants? There are not only plants and animals, but many other living and non-living elements. We are living in one earth, then why our feeding process, life cycle, body structure, and other activities are different? Now I talked about the earth, there are also so many planets and stars in the universe that are different from earth. The stars have own light but the planets don't. Why is it? While looking at the sky we see so many point like planets and stars. Is their size really point like or not? How many planets and stars are in the universe, how large is the universe? How old the universe is? What is beyond the universe?

Oh sorry! I have gone to the deep discussion of the nature. Let's go back to our childhood. After about one or two years from our birth, as we had gained the ability to think, the nature had suprises us with its so many phenomena. We all might think various phenomena and there were so many questions in our minds. Why are we born and how? Why do we grow up and die? Why is the color of leaves  green, that could be red? Why does the rain fall like drop? Why do water is liquid and why do air is gaseous? Why do the clouds lighten while raining? Why the day and night come after one another? Why do we feel hot in summer and why do feel cold in winter? Why do we feel hunger? WhWhy birds can fly but we can't? Why does something burn with fire and why does fire go out with water? Why does the volcanic lava come from underground and also why do water come from underground? Why do we can't live without oxygen? Why do storms come and how? And etc. etc. There were endless quequestions in our minds in our childhood. Did we know the answers then? The answer is know. But now we know the answers of most of the questions and that is because of science and still so many unknown.

Now the question is "what is Science?" As I recognize, the word 'science' had been originated from the Latin verb 'scientia' meaning "to know". The Sanskrit word 'vijnan' and the Arabic word 'ilm' convey similar meaning "knowledge". Science, in a broad sense, is as old as human species. If we want to give a suitable definition of science, then we can say-

"Science is a systematic attempt to understand natural phenomena in as much detail and depth as possible, and use the knowledge so gained to predict, modify and control phenomena. Science is exploring, experimenting and predicting from what we see around us."

The curiosity to learn about the world, unravelling the secret of nature is the first step toward the discovery of science. To understand nature and natural phenomena, we need the knowledge of science. Science is really so interesting to know the unknown. With the knowledge of science we can solve the mysterious problems of nature. Science provides us with a logical, factual and generally rational explanation of the World around us. Science is not about proving the non-existance of God. It is about providing a solid basis on factual, repeatable, measurable and determinable results. Science discloses the cover of reality. The primary aim of science is to collect truths(information). In simple language-

"SCIENCE is the POETRY of REALITY."

Now our discussion is "what is the importance of science and why is it so important?" Let's talk about it. Already we have known that to understand the nature around us, we need science. To measure any value, any quantity,  any quality or to establish comparisons among them, we have to use the knowledge of science. Now take a good look at our daily lifestyle. From a smallest single point like object to the whole universe, science investigates the all types of truths. There are so many branches of science created like- Physics, Mathematics,  Chemistry,  Biology, Medical science, geography, economics and so on to investigate, explain and develop different wondering things of nature and life. Using the knowledge of science we developed so many natural phenomena with artificial technologies to make our lives easier and secure.

Importance of science is to read thr way things play and not to only practice these advances to our advantage(reward), simply to help control and maintain certain environments to keep animal life secure. The science is the way of passing knowledge from one generation to some other. And so we can build our corporate knowledge to solve increasingly complex troubles related to our productivity. The science helps us make research of living and non-living things in our universe. The science is the answer to all horrifying doubts.

We can't deny the importance of science in our lives. The science doesn't promote violence but it teaches truths. The science teaches part of each individual in this creation. But if science has the ability to protect us, it is also powerful enough do destroy the entire mankind. Nowadays, due to corruption, science is becoming a weapon to create violence.
